We don’t live in a vacuum of history. You don’t have to be a lawyer to learn the
history of the courts, and how the other branches of government have interacted
in the past. Take the time, if you will,
to read the cases on this
website. If you don’t like the analysis
there, look up and read the cases for yourself.
For example, how many of you know that the case of Roe v. Wade,
legalizing abortion, ruled that:
“For the stage subsequent to viability,
the State in promoting its interest in the potentiality of human life may, if
it chooses, regulate, and even proscribe, abortion except where it is
necessary, in appropriate medical judgment, for the preservation of the life or
health of the mother.”
Simply
put, that means that even in Roe v. Wade, the court said that abortion can be
prohibited by government in the third trimester. Were you ever taught that? Have you wondered how we got from there to
the recent federal court decision striking down the partial-birth abortion ban
